The Poederbaas NK/BK Freeride festival is coming up!

The date for the Dutch/Belgian Freeride Championships organized by Poederbaas has been announced! It's from March 15th to 22nd. So save the date! It's a competition all about creativity, adventure, and courage. Plus, it's a week full of celebration, and everyone is welcome to join in the fun.

Unlike the structured world of slalom and giant slalom, freeride skiing offers a lot of freedom, allowing you to carve your own lines. You stand at the top of the mountain, look down, and choose your own route. Every obstacle – from rocks to steep descents – is an opportunity to prove yourself. Your creativity and technique are tested by the terrain, conditions, and weather.

The freedom of freeride skiing

The Dutch/Belgian Freeride Championships reflect this essence of freedom. It's not just about who sets the fastest time or makes the tightest turn. No, it's about style, flow, and most importantly: daring. Participants choose their own lines, have to make real-time assessments, and rely on their experience and instincts. It's freeride skiing in its purest form, with a touch of competitive tension. Nothing feels as liberating as carving your own path through fresh powder, without obligations, without fixed patterns. That's what Poederbaas offers: an event where freedom and competition go hand in hand.

What makes the Dutch/Belgian Freeride Championships so special is that we continue to celebrate freedom, even within the context of a competition. Where other competitions often adhere strictly to defined rules, Poederbaas stays true to the values of freeriding. It's not just about winning, but about the art of skiing itself. That's why every year we see a diverse range of styles and personalities on the mountain, from experienced freeriders to young talents taking their first big jumps.

Party and adventure

What makes the Dutch/Belgian Freeride Championships so special is not only the athletic performance but also the sense of community that Poederbaas creates. Every year, the event brings together a group of like-minded skiers and snowboarders, all sharing the same passion for powder snow and the unknown. This isn't an event where you only come to win. No, you also come for the atmosphere, for the stories at the end of the day, and for the indescribable feeling of freedom you can only experience when you're in the mountains.

And I haven't even mentioned Poederbaas's iconic afterparties, where the community truly comes alive. After a day full of adrenaline and excitement, achievements are celebrated, not just by the winners, but by everyone who's up for a party. Every year, the jumps get higher and the memories sharper.

An ode to the mountains

The Dutch/Belgian Freeride Championships, organized by Poederbaas, are more than a competition. It's an ode to the mountains, to the snow, and especially to the feeling of freedom that you can only find up there. It's a celebration of adventure and courage, of creativity and technical skill. In a time when much of our daily lives are regulated and planned, Poederbaas reminds us that there are still places where nature is in charge – and where we, for a short time, are given the space to carve our own lines.

So, whether you're participating yourself, watching from the sidelines, or admiring it from afar: the Dutch/Belgian Freeride Championships are an event that detaches you from the daily grind and takes you to a world where freedom challenges you to surpass yourself. Because that's what freeride is.
