The Poederbaas Freeride Festival in Kappl will be a week dedicated to freeride, music, competitions, and parties. Daytime action on the mountain, and every afternoon and evening, fun during après-ski and festival events.
Below you will find an overview of the week's program.
SUNDAY, MARCH 15: OPENING & ELECTRONIC DIAS
We kick off the week with Electronic Dias, a new festival component. High up on the mountain, we're organizing an open-air electronic session from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, with views over the Alps and music from international and local artists. Electronic Dias is freely accessible to festival visitors (with a ski pass). For more information about the lineup, click here.
MONDAY, MARCH 16: COMPETITIONS & RAIL CONTEST
Monday features the first competitions on the schedule.
Dutch/Belgian Vertical Skimo Championship
In addition to the freeride competition, we are also organizing the Dutch/Belgian Vertical Skimo Championship. This is an uphill race where participants go up the mountain as fast as possible with touring skis or splitboards.
- 3.5 km course
- 600 vertical meters
- finish usually within 90 minutes
A great challenge for fit participants, even if you don't have much touring experience yet. With a Freeride ticket, you can participate for free.

Rail Contest (NEW)
We're bringing something completely new to the Poederbaas Freeride Festival: a Rail Contest! Right next to the Schafstall, we're going all out with sick tricks, loud cheers, and real festival vibes. Step in, show your best moves, and you might just go home with awesome prizes. And when the contest is over... we're far from stopping. We'll go straight into the 90s party.
TUESDAY, MARCH 17: CLINICS & RIDERS MEETING
On Tuesday, clinics are planned on the mountain where participants can improve their technique. Additionally, the test center will be open all day for you to visit. Later in the day, the Riders' Meeting will take place, explaining the freeride competition and sharing all safety information.
MARCH 18 & 19: FREERIDE QUALIFIER & FINALS
Wednesday is all about the qualifiers, where riders will qualify for a spot in the final. At the end of the day, it will be announced who will advance to the finals.
On Thursday, the best riders from the qualifiers will compete against each other in the Dutch/Belgian Freeride Finals. From the spectator area, you can follow the final live on the mountain, which is accessible to everyone. Here you can also enjoy snacks and drinks that we have prepared for you.

FRIDAY, MARCH 20: WATERSLIDE & CLOSING PARTY
The last day is all about fun and festivities.
Waterslide Contest
Put on your most original outfit and race down our waterslide on skis or a snowboard. The crazier, the better. There will be a jury and, of course, an award ceremony.

The Last Drop – Closing Party
On Friday, we'll conclude the festival with The Last Drop, our official closing party from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM on the mountain. For more information about the lineup, click here. Visitors who only want to come on Friday are also welcome with a The Last Drop ticket. This also grants you access to the Waterslide Contest.
DAILY APRÈS-SKI AT THE SCHAFSTALL
Every day ends at the Schafstall, Kappl's ultimate après-ski spot. Here, festival-goers gather for music, drinks, and stories from the day on the mountain.
