Poederbaas Freeride Festival is coming!๐Ÿš€

Hi all,
The Poederbaas Freeride Festival/NK Freeride/BK Freeride is getting closer. Here is some important information regarding this sporting event!
Snowsafety
We strive for the safest possible event week for all involved. We do this by keeping everyone informed of the snow conditions, organizing various snow safety clinics in collaboration with (Dutch-speaking) guides and by providing avalanche backpacks in combination with beacons and 3-unit.
Insurance
As an organization we expect everyone to be well insured in case people do get injured. A good insurance is that of the Dutch Ski Association or the insurance of Snowsport Flanders. Both have good off-piste coverage and even a module that covers participation in ski/snowboard competitions. That does not mean that this is the only (good) insurance for people who like off-piste skiing / snowboarding because there are more. How someone is insured is his or her own responsibility! The only thing we will ask for is the policy number and the name of the insurance in case something happens so that we have the details at hand. Having good insurance with off-piste coverage is ultimately everyone's own responsibility.
Material
You are required to have the three units in your pocket during the NK/BK Freeride. This means that you must have an avalanche beacon, a shovel and a probe with you. In addition, it is also required to have a back protector on. This may also be incorporated in a backpack! This will also be checked before people appear at the start of the competition. The use of freeride skis or a freeride snowboard is also strongly recommended.
OUTDOOR XL
If you still want advice or want to buy material, you can go to OutdoorXL! They are the specialist in the field of freeriding and ski touring and manage the Freeride XL ski test where all brands that mean something in the freeride sport are present. Here you can test material so that you can ultimately make the best choice.
Reserve list
This year we have received a huge number of registrations for the freeride competitions. Great! But this will also be a huge challenge for the organization to keep this on track. At the moment there are more than 100 people on the starting list and we still have about 20 people who have bought a ticket for the reserve list.
This means that if someone decides not to participate in the freeride competition, this place will be freed up for the next person on the reserve list. A number of these reserve people have already been contacted to say that they have been moved up to the official starting list. This is because other people have been injured or because they can no longer participate for another reason. If you have registered but already know that you cannot participate, we would of course like to hear from you!
It is good to know that as an organization we do everything we can to let as many people as possible participate. Provided this is done in a responsible/safe manner.
Finally
We are looking forward to a fantastic week and will share multiple messages this week and next week via our communication channels. These messages will provide more information about the program, the weather forecast, what the jury will pay attention to and how you as an athlete can make a difference. If you have any questions in the meantime, please contact us via info@poederbaas.com .

SEE YOU IN KAPPL(ASKA)!โ„๏ธโ„๏ธ
