NK Big Air Kitesurfing

YoungCapital NK Big Air: Tomorrow is the day and the best Kitesurfers in the Netherlands will take action!

Zandvoort, 13-10-2023 – On Friday, October 13, the most talented kitesurfers in the Netherlands will come together to brave the challenging wind and waves during the YoungCapital NK Big Air! With eighteen of the best male and nine of the best female kitesurfers from the Netherlands, we promise to see breathtaking stunts at heights of tens of meters. The one who shows the most impressive jumps and tricks, in which height, style and control come together, can crown himself the YoungCapital Dutch Big Air Champion 2023. Participants will give it their all, the ultimate recipe for the most spectacular images during these extreme weather conditions!

How does the contest work?

During the event, riders compete in heats of 2 or 3. There are 4 judges who judge each rider based on a trick performed. This score is sent to the riders on the water on an Apple Watch so they can keep track of how many points have been scored. The best 2 out of 5 performed jumps count towards the total score. The best rider of each heat goes straight to the next round. The loser has a second chance in an intermediate round.

Among the world's top, many Dutch kitesurfers belong and it is therefore no surprise that this day will be filled with incredible actions. Well-known names such as the current Dutch champion Jan Zoon and the upcoming talent Jamie Overbeek are ready to show impressive stunts. There are also several world-class participants in the women's tournament, such as Zara Hoogenraad and Elsien Zijlstra.
