This year's Poederbaas Freeride Festival 2026 promises to be bigger and better than ever. From March 14-21 in Kappl (Austria), the charming ski resort near Ischgl will transform into the epicentre of freeride, community, and parties. Whether you are an experienced freerider, want to participate in competitions, or just want to enjoy the après-ski vibes, there is something for everyone this week.
During the week, you can participate in the Dutch/Belgian Freeride Championships, the Dutch/Belgian Vertical Skimo Championships, and the legendary Waterslide Contest – three open competitions where both Dutch and Belgian skiers and snowboarders will battle it out in the powder snow. In addition, there are daily freeride and snow safety clinics, the opportunity to test the latest skis at the OutdoorXL test centre, and awesome après-ski parties. The program for the week is as follows:
- Sunday: Test centre opening, clinics & ‘Electronic Dias’ welcome party (NEW!)
- Monday: Dutch/Belgian Vertical Skimo, clinics, rail contest (NEW!) & theme party
- Tuesday: Clinics, après-ski & riders meeting
- Wednesday: Dutch/Belgian Freeride Qualifier, finalist announcement & après-ski
- Thursday: Freeride finals & après-ski
- Friday: Waterslide contest, award ceremony & closing party ‘The Last Drop’ (NEW!)
The weekly program is always dependent on weather conditions and may therefore be subject to minor changes. Friday is a weather day, which means the Freeride competition may also take place on Friday.
This edition includes several new highlights in the weekly program that will further enhance the party and experience factor. Two new awesome parties have been added to the mountain, and for the first time, we are introducing a rail contest.

Sunday – Electronic Dias welcome party on the mountain
The festival week on Sunday not only opens with clinics and the test centre, but for the first time also with a unique Electronic Dias welcome party on the mountain, organised together with locals. Expect raw beats, a magnificent view, and a good vibe – the perfect start to the week. -
Monday – Rail Contest at the Schafstall
On Monday, in addition to the Vertical Skimo race and daily activities, a brand new rail contest at the Schafstall is on the program. -
Friday – The Last Drop closing party on the mountain
The week concludes fittingly with The Last Drop closing party on the mountain on Friday. After the award ceremony and the waterslide contest, this is the place to end the week in style with participants, friends, and new acquaintances. The line-up will be better than ever, coming soon!
In addition to the highlights, there will be lively après-ski parties throughout the week, inspiring freeride sessions, (snow safety) clinics with experienced guides, and numerous opportunities to improve freeride skills. The Poederbaas Freeride Festival thus remains a unique mix of sport, community, and celebration where freeride enthusiasts of all levels come together.
